The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is embarking on a significant digital transformation journey. The agency is preparing to replace its legacy PeopleSoft Financial system with a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. To ensure the success of this large-scale modernization effort, VITA is seeking a seasoned ERP Project Manager who can lead the initiative from inception to successful delivery.
This project is backed by VITA’s Chief Financial Officer and funded through an approved budget package. The selected professional will act as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and external implementation partners, leading the project across its full lifecycle.

ERP Project Manager – Responsibilities

Lead the full ERP project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, team management, vendor coordination, testing, and go-live

Collaborate closely with VITA’s internal business and technical teams to gather and validate requirements

Align the project with financial modernization goals, public sector compliance requirements, and performance benchmarks

Create and maintain detailed project plans, resource schedules, risk logs, and stakeholder communication plans

Manage change control, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and training deliverables

Present project status updates and strategic decisions to executive leadership

ERP Project Manager – Required Skills and Experience

12+ years of progressive IT project management experience

At least 5 years leading high-risk, high-budget ($XXM+) IT initiatives

Proven track record managing large-scale ERP or financial software projects

Solid understanding of governmental accounting and public sector financial systems

Strong expertise in project delivery using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies

Hands-on experience with project management tools like MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, or Planview
