Power BI Developer – Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer for a long-term onsite opportunity in Lawrenceville, GA. This role requires deep experience in Power BI, Crystal Reports, and various data modeling tools, along with the ability to support and enhance existing reports while developing new dashboards and visualizations for end-users across the organization.

You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, translate business questions into actionable data, and design elegant reporting solutions that align with best practices in BI and data governance. You’ll also be the primary point of contact for support and troubleshooting of deployed dashboards and reports.

This is a 100% onsite role. Candidates must be able to work from the Lawrenceville location.

Power BI Developer – Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy custom reports and dashboards using Power BI and Crystal Reports
Gather, document, and interpret business intelligence requirements from internal stakeholders
Connect Power BI and Crystal Reports to data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, SAP BW, Salesforce, and Aumentum Tax System
Create data models, semantic layers, and visualizations that meet defined objectives
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing Power BI dashboards and Crystal Reports
Apply DAX formulas and Power Query functions to develop KPIs, calculated columns, and complex logic
Maintain compliance with development standards, security protocols, and version control
Provide end-user training and support documentation for developed reports
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and data stewards
Continuously optimize performance of reports, queries, and data refresh pipelines

Power BI Developer – Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power BI
7+ years of experience developing and maintaining Crystal Reports
Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and reporting best practices
Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, and DAX formulas
Experience working with various data sources: SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, Salesforce, SAP BW, and Aumentum
Experience writing complex SQL queries and building semantic models
Familiarity with SSRS, SSIS, and similar Microsoft BI tools

Power BI Developer – Preferred Experience

Microsoft BI Stack experience: Power BI, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Certification in Crystal Reports or Power BI is a plus
Experience using Crystal Reports SDK within .NET or web applications
Familiarity with application scripting, UI/UX design concepts, and report performance optimization
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and analytical mindset
Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
