We are hiring a Cloud AWS Architect to join a high-impact team working at the forefront of cloud technologies, modern data lakes, and secure DevOps environments. This hybrid role is based in either Fort Mill, South Carolina or the New York/New Jersey area, offering a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.

About the Role

As a Cloud AWS Architect, you will lead the design and deployment of scalable cloud architectures using AWS services. Your work will support enterprise-grade data ingestion, processing, analytics, and reporting solutions. This role demands hands-on experience with Amazon MSK (Kafka), Glue, Iceberg, and strong proficiency in Terraform, PySpark, and secure API development.

Key Responsibilities of the Cloud AWS Architect

Cloud and AWS Technologies

  • Design cloud-native solutions using core AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, CloudWatch, and IAM.

  • Implement API Gateway for RESTful services and secure endpoints.

  • Use Lake Formation and Glue Data Catalog for governance and data classification.

  • Monitor and audit with CloudTrail and Secrets Manager integration.

Data Lake and Processing

  • Architect and manage scalable data lake solutions on Amazon S3 using Apache Iceberg.

  • Develop efficient ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, and PySpark.

  • Collaborate with data engineers to enable Snowflake or Databricks integration as part of cloud-native strategy.

Streaming and Orchestration

  • Build streaming ingestion pipelines with Amazon MSK.

  • Use Glue Workflows and AWS Step Functions to orchestrate batch and real-time jobs.

  • Optimize job performance and manage dependencies for large-scale workloads.

DevOps and Infrastructure

  • Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform and GitHub Actions.

  • Apply secure SDLC practices with regulatory compliance in mind.

  • Work within a framework similar to LPL’s delivery model to meet audit and risk standards.

BI and Analytics Enablement

  • Support analytics teams by integrating Athena and QuickSight for reporting and ad-hoc queries.

  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and security in analytical environments.

Preferred Qualifications for Cloud AWS Architect

  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of broker-dealer or wealth management data such as transactions, accounts, and commissions.

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics Specialty).

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide stakeholders across departments.

Why This Role Matters

This is not just another AWS role. You will play a central part in building secure, scalable, and compliant data infrastructures. Your work will support critical decision-making tools for business teams, drive innovation, and ensure technology alignment with regulatory demands.
