About the Role: Java Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Technical Lead to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a local-only hybrid role with a contract duration of 12+ months. As the Technical Lead, you will drive customer discussions, deliver technical solutions, and provide leadership across onshore and offshore development teams.

The role requires strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Spring Boot, and offshore coordination. You will balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality solutions.


Key Responsibilities for Java Technical Lead

Requirements & Design

  • Lead technical solutioning and architectural discussions with stakeholders.

  • Review functional and technical requirements, identify risks, and propose solutions.

Coding & Review

  • Spend 50% of your time coding and 50% reviewing code to resolve complex issues.

  • Ensure scalable, high-quality code through peer reviews and mentoring.

Integration & Testing

  • Guarantee seamless deployments across environments.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enforce CI/CD best practices.

Feature Definition & Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Business Analysts to define features.

  • Collaborate with business teams to identify opportunities for improvements.

Team Leadership

  • Coordinate work across onshore and offshore teams.

  • Mentor junior developers, enforce coding standards, and share best practices.


Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification: GCP Professional Architect Certification (preferred).

  • Cloud Expertise: 2+ years designing and deploying solutions in GCP (GKE, VPC, Load Balancers, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, IAM, DataProc, DataFlow, Stackdriver).

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform (preferred).

  • Programming: 10–12 years in Java/J2EE development with Spring Boot, Spring XD, Hibernate.

  • Big Data: Hands-on experience with Hadoop and Apache Spark.

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency with Jenkins and related tools.

  • Architecture: Ability to define and lead technical approaches for business challenges.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, adaptability, and proven leadership qualities.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Azure or AWS in addition to GCP.

  • Exposure to PaaS and SaaS environments.
